Artist Statement: 

 

I grew up with a love for comedy and cartoons. Inspired by animated sitcoms like South Park and The Simpsons, I wanted to create something that was dark, critical and rude with a girly flair.

 

The characters in my film are inspired by my experiences including my friendships, fears and insecurities. By using bugs, who by human standards lead small and insignificant lives, the audience is made aware of the trivial nature of their own concerns.

 

The film touches on the many aspects of privileged youth culture and the selfishness, judgement and superficiality that comes with it.  I want this film to  to reveal just how grotesque and absurd the whole notion of beauty and status is, and express how this concept weighs heavily on us everyday as both men and women. However, the main intent of my film is to get some laughs and to create a delightfully uncomfortable experience.
